360 degrees commitment to
DIVERSITY, INCLUSION, AND VISIBILITY
in communications, events and marketing.
What is the DIVents Charter?
Divento: I grow, I become
The name of the Charter takes inspiration from the Latin/Italian word divento which means I grow, I become, as its aspiration is to equip organisations and individuals with the awareness and guidance that will allow them to become truly inclusive and fully embrace diversity in everything they do.
The DIVents Charter provides a 360 degrees blueprint to increasing diversity, inclusion and visibility of diverse groups in communications, events, marketing activities and effectively any output an organisation may be developing or supporting.
What do the 360 degrees mean?
It means you will show leadership and commitment to diversity, inclusion and visibility at all levels. Leadership is about people. It’s about all those who contribute to the task including executives, directors, HR team, interns, casting agents, delivery partners, creatives, speakers, performers, make-up artists… when we say 360 degrees, we mean everyone. It’s imperative to understand that leadership and learning go hand in hand – there is no set rule on who ‘can’ be the game-changer in the organisation: we can all make a difference.
Signatories to this Charter commit to taking tangible actions to ensure the communications (internal and external), events (they organise, sponsor, support or take part in), and marketing activities are increasingly more diverse and most importantly inclusive. They commit to do so in a visible and accountable way to role model best practice. Moreover, although primarily focused on communications, events and marketing, the spirit of the DIVents Charter is equally applicable to any other output including internal and external recruitment, PR, operations, and more.
This Charter is designed to cover all levels of intersectionality and it’s easily adaptable to your demographics, ensuring full inclusion and visibility is rolled out within all involved parties.
We have created 3 levels of accreditation your organisation can choose to work towards. These are Ready (being the entry-level), Active, and Accomplished (the highest).
You will complete our online self-assessment. We will then see how your workplace stacks up against our topic areas - where you are doing where and where you need to improve.
You will learn ways to meet the standards of the Charter, building on best practice and resources you will be given access to. You will also be assigned a consultant to develop your action plan, as well as identify any needs for staff training.
Our consultants will assess your evidence submission, portfolio and any follow-up interview against the DIVents Charter standards to helo you identify the level that is right for your organisation at this particular time
Receive your accreditation from the Diversity Pride's DIVevent's Charter, as well as a post-assessment pack to helo you celebrate your success and implement any additional improvement measures identified.
